You walked ahead, I followed near,
A child's eyes wide, with love sincere.
Through every lesson, firm yet kind,
You shaped my heart, you trained my mind.
You taught me strength, to stand up tall,
To face the storms, to never fall.
Yet life is vast, the road unsure,
And I still seek what you endured.
A guiding hand, now out of sight,
Yet in my soul, you shine so bright.
Your voice remains in whispered air,
Though I turn to look, you're not there.
I do not claim to know the way,
Each step I take, I learn, I stray.
But in my heart, the echoes stay,
A quiet light that will not fade.
For every stone, for every mile,
I see your shadow, I hold your smile.
Though time may pass and seasons fade,
Your love, your lessons—never swayed.
So walk I must, yet not alone,
Your footprints guide me, set in stone.
Not in body, not in word,
But always felt, always heard.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
